Do you believe books and wine go together like, well...like books and wine? If so, join us for The Mind Readers: We Read Between The Wines Book Club! We meet the last Sunday (sometimes the Sunday before...we'll keep you updated) of the month from 6-8pm. Happy Hour is from 5-6, so come a bit early for a yummy selection of food to go with your wine by the glass or bottle. We also have beer, soda, and water available for purchase.
January's selected book is: The Sound of Gravel: A Memoir by Ruth Wariner. "The thirty-ninth of her father’s forty-two children, Ruth Wariner grew up in polygamist family on a farm in rural Mexico. In The Sound of Gravel, she offers an unforgettable portrait of the violence that threatened her community, her family’s fierce sense of loyalty, and her own unshakeable belief in the possibility of a better life. An intimate, gripping tale of triumph and courage, The Sound of Gravel is a heart-stopping true story."
The paperback edition is currently on sale on Amazon for $5,99.
January 27th is our first meeting. Please come prepared to meet each other, discuss the book, and have fun! We will also set up meeting "rules" and expectations, and choose books for our next six meetings (this will allow us to purchase books well ahead of time and/or get on the library waitlist). We're looking forward to seeing you!
